The Crowning of Man’s Dominion- the Glory of God
Psalm 8:4-6” What is man that you are mindful of him? And the son of man that you visited him? For you have made him a little lower than the angels and have crowned him with glory and honor. You made him to have dominion over all the works of your hands, you have put all things under his feet.” So, Adam was crowned with glory and honor. When he rebelled, and took on the nature of fallen man, he forfeited the glory. God covered them with animal skins, that is, He made atonement for their rebellion. God’s plan from the beginning-the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, to restore the glory back to man.
The glory of God is the nature of Almighty God. In Greek it is called the “doxa” or the outshining of all that makes God, God. The Hebrew is the word: “Chabad”. All through the Old Testament we see glimpses of the glory. In particular, in the tabernacle on the great Day of Atonement. To Moses it was the burning bush, and on the mount, he was showed the glory of God. All through the Old Testament it was prophesied the day when the glory would be restored to man. Colossians 1:27.” Christ in you, the hope of glory”. Father God wants the world to see Jesus, so He put Him in the person of the Holy Spirit inside of us to show forth Him-Jesus-the Holy Spirit- the glory of God, to the world, that they may know and experience Him.
Romans 6:4 tells us that God raised Jesus from the dead by “the glory of the Father”. Romans 8:11 tells us that He raised Him from the dead by the person and power of the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1:19-20” and what is the exceeding greatness of His power which he wrought in Christ when he raised him from the dead”. The glory of God, the life of God, eternal life, the resurrection power of God, the person of the Holy Spirit are all synonymous. How did we get it? Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:16; romans 8:32; Romans 5:17. It did not come cheap, but we got it, Him, the power, the glory, the Holy Spirit, the day we believed in Him! Why don’t we see it? 2Corinthians 3:6-18, It, He, comes by the Spirit, not by the letter, it comes by grace not by the Law. John 1:16’And of his fullness have we all received, and that grace for grace.” Romans 8:30” Whom he predestined he also called, whom he called he also justified, whom he justified he also glorified. We are not short of the glory of God anymore. 1John 4:17” … as he is so are we in this world”. The cross of Christ was the restoration of the glory of God to man.
How do we manifest it-Him-the glory of God? The answer is by grace through faith. Galatians 3:1-5. We received the Spirit of God by the hearing of faith, not by works of the law. We work miracles, the power and glory of God by faith, not by works of the law. It is by grace, the favor of God, His strength, power, might and ability, not our own. It is given to us as a free gift by way of Jesus Christ, His finished work at Calvary. Jesus said the Holy Spirit would glorify Him. John 16:13-14. The more conscious we are of Jesus, the more grace conscious we are the more activation of the Holy Spirit. It is not sin, or self, or Satan conscious, but Jesus conscious.
Love is God’s inspiration for everything He does. Love is the catalyst to manifest the presence or the power or the glory or the person of the Holy Spirit. It is God’s love for me, not my love for God. 1John 4:8-10”He that loves not does not know God, for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. Herein is love, not that we love God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins”. As we walk in the love of God for us, that love flows through us, and God’s glory is manifest so that all can see, know and experience Jesus in His fullness. Hallelujah!
